About Company

At BP Plc, headquartered in London, UK, we take pride in being a global leader in the energy sector since our founding in 1909. With operations spanning Africa, Asia, Europe, Australasia, North America, and South America, we are dedicated to delivering energy solutions that power the world today while shaping a sustainable tomorrow. Our purpose is clear: to provide reliable, innovative, and responsible energy to customers worldwide, balancing traditional oil and gas with investments in lower-carbon solutions.

Our Oil and Gas Operations: Driving Global Energy Supply

Our oil and gas business is the backbone of our mission to meet global energy demands. Through our Upstream and Downstream segments, we explore, produce, refine, and deliver energy products with precision and care. Our Upstream operations focus on discovering and developing oil and natural gas fields, supported by midstream activities like transportation and storage. In our Downstream segment, we refine crude oil, manufacture petrochemicals, and market fuels to millions of customers globally. We’re committed to growing our upstream production, with plans to increase capital investment by 20%, from $8.5 billion in 2024 to $10 billion annually through 2027. This will fuel 10 major project startups by 2027 and 8–10 more by 2030, boosting our global output to 2.3–2.5 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) by the decade’s end, up from 2.2 million boe/d.

Our Drilling Operations: Innovating for Safety and Efficiency

We’re proud of our cutting-edge drilling operations, which combine advanced technology with a relentless focus on safety and environmental stewardship. Across our global portfolio, we deploy tools like digital twins, artificial intelligence (AI), and enhanced seismic imaging to optimize every well we drill. In the Gulf of Mexico, our $9 billion Mad Dog 2 project, featuring the Argos platform, operates at 4,500 feet of water depth, producing up to 140,000 boe/d through a state-of-the-art subsea system. Our recently approved Kaskida project, set to begin production in 2029, will deliver 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day, unlocking 10 billion barrels of discovered resources in the Kaskida and Tiber fields using advanced drilling techniques and updated seismic data.

In the North Sea, we use AI to predict equipment performance, ensuring safe and reliable operations. Our Azeri Central East (ACE) platform in the Caspian Sea is a pinnacle of innovation, with fully automated drilling and an onshore control room that enhances efficiency. Tools like our Wells Assistant, powered by generative AI, allow our teams to design wells in days instead of months, while our Optimization Genie AI has boosted production, such as a 2,000 boe/d increase at our Atlantis hub in the Gulf of Mexico.

Sustainability is at the heart of our drilling operations. In Oman, we’ve implemented “green completions” to process gas rather than flare it, and in the US, our BPX Energy business has achieved zero routine flaring. We’re working toward eliminating routine flaring across our wells by 2030, supported by technologies like downhole sensors for real-time emissions monitoring. Beyond oil and gas, we’re applying our drilling expertise to carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects, such as the Northern Endurance Partnership in the North Sea, where we’re designing injection wells to store carbon and support the energy transition.

Our Global Impact and Vision

With operations in key regions like the Gulf of Mexico, Azerbaijan, Trinidad and Tobago, and Iraq, we’re proud to deliver energy that powers communities and economies worldwide. Our partnerships, such as with Rosneft and regional stakeholders, amplify our impact. At BP, we’re not just an energy company—we’re a force for progress, blending over a century of expertise with a forward-looking commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainability. Together, we’re building a future where energy is reliable, responsible, and ready for tomorrow.
